Five questions to ask before you choose a logistics partner
Price matters, but it rarely decides whether your deliveries go well. These five questions tell you more.

Most companies compare carriers on price first. It is the easiest number to see — and the one that says least about how your deliveries will actually go.
1. Who do I call when something goes wrong?
Every network has a bad day. What matters is whether a person answers, knows your account, and can tell you what happens next.
2. Can I see where every shipment is?
Live tracking should not be a favour. Ask to see the screen your team and your customers will use, not a slide about it.
3. How are prices worked out?
- Is there one rate card, or a different answer every time?
- Which surcharges apply, and when?
- How are weight and size measured?
4. What happens at the door?
Proof of delivery, second attempts, cash on delivery and returns all happen in the last few metres. Ask how each one works.
5. Will they grow with you?
The right partner makes the next city, the next channel and the next busy season easier — not a new project.
